What are the major characteristics of the Mexican upper class?

Upper class characteristics

I can only talk about my city, but to them is very important the appearances in every moment, going to the supermarket really elegant, buying the most expensive clothes, going to Europe or USA every vacation, they usually go to Catholic and expensive schools, children go to USA to learn English and study part of their high school there.

They study their univiersity in Mexico City or USA.

Also they criticize people who do not, dress as,their standards.

Last names are very important.

Their job is secure, they work in politics or for the family business.

And most of them are white skinned.

In my city they usually have Arabian last names or Spanish last names.

They have a superiority complex, there is racism against indigenas.

And those are the major points I can remember.

Upper class income

If you look at this from an economics pov you will encounter a concept called the law of diminishing marginal utility.

,,nBasically as you are able to consume more goods, the marginal utility of each additional good drops, you have plenty.

This isnt true for all goods, some goods can be combined better when theres more of them, so their utility keeps rising.

,But I dont like to look at this as an economics student because the connection between utility and happiness is quite fuzzy.

Ill look at this from an experiential point of view as someone who has lived in an environment that spans across social classes.

,Money is a problem.

At a certain amount that problem is solved.

At a certain amount the negative effects of financial restrictions are alleviated to a point where it doesnt matter.

When I said you have plenty earlier on, I really meant that.

Exceptions aside, people who have 500 million in the bank know just as well as those with 5 million (and less) that they dont have to worry about their bills.

They can afford good nutrition, safety, housing, holidays, leisure, entertainment and other such factors.

,Living conditions as a function of income isnt a linear function.

There is an income at which it really doesnt matter.

Before you clear that road block, chances are that your financial worries are your biggest worries.

Your financial worries cause everything else.

Once you clear the roadblock, your happiness shoots up.

,Then something can be said for self-sorting effects where people who are in the upper class, mingle with those in the upper middle class and thus they have similar environments and characteristics whereas upper-middle class and lower-middle class + lower class dont mix.

,Then we could also discuss the methodology behind these measurements and see what criteria they look at when measuring happiness.
